What we’re about to embark on is something that has never been done
before. This is a “reality of road trip”.
It all comes together on http://www.wekeepmoving.org.
Before sunlight, I woke up at four o’clock this morning in order to
begrudgingly take an accessible car service to the Reuters Building
in Times Square. While the sun was rising, Kate and I were speaking to
reporters live from all around the nation. FOX, ABC, CBS – one after
another, after another. This is such a big and exciting project!
When we got there it was the royal treatment! Thank goodness we have
the gracious support of the National MS Society and Novartis, who were
making every step of the way easier. I don’t want to say that this
will be easy… being completely able-bodied and traveling 10 different
places around the US with in 10 weeks is still a little bit much. Try
doing the same with a scooter and MS symptoms!
The thing that keeps me going is your stories. I am excited to hear
your riveting tales of inspiration that will have touched me so that they
may touch the rest of the world. The MS community has a great story to
tell – a story of personal triumph and innovation in the face of
adversity. Both people living with MS and their supporters are going
beyond the call of duty day after day. My job is simply to work with
our great team and tell their stories.
